Pizza Roll Up Muffins
The other night I wanted to make pizza, but wanted to try something new. These pizza roll ups turned our great and was a fun one my son to help with.
Makes 10 - 12 roll ups
Ingredients
- Pizza Crust - this is the recipe that I use: Homemade Pizza Crust
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 3/4 - 1 cup shredded Mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
- Toppings of choice - we used pepperoni
- Garlic salt
Begin by mixing up the pizza dough so that it has some time to rise. I only let the dough rest for 30 minutes.
Once dough has had time to rise, press and roll the dough into a large rectangle (a little less than a 1/4 inch thick.)
Melt 3 tablespoons of butter and spread the melted butter onto the dough.
Sprinkle lightly with garlic salt.
Add desired toppings all over the dough. Leave an inch or so space around the edges.
Sprinkle the Mozzarella, Parmesan and Cheddar cheese on the dough.
Roll up the dough. Start rolling from one end and work your way across to form a log or pinwheel.
Grease a 12 muffin tin with butter.
Cut the roll into 1 to 1 1/2 inch pieces.
Place one roll up in each muffin spot.
Bake in a 425 degree oven for 25 to 30 minutes.
Serve with marinara sauce.
